Behaviour support for anxious, aging and sensitive dogs.

Specialised support for dogs with complex behavioural needs
whether due to aging, illness, injury or behavioural issues.

  • As dogs move into their later years, their behaviour changes. You might notice restlessness, anxiety, vocalising, pacing, confusion, clinginess, or withdrawal. I offer gentle, relationship-based support for:

    • Cognitive changes (like Canine Cognitive Dysfunction)

    • Sensory loss (sight, hearing, mobility)

    • Behaviour shifts related to aging, injury and illness.

    • End-of-life support

  • Compassionate behaviour support for dogs who are:

    • Recovering from surgery or injury.

    • Living with chronic pain or mobility limitations.

    • Managing long-term conditions that affect energy, stamina, or movement.

    • Differently-abled, anxious or fearful.

  • Not every dog thrives on traditional walks, and thats ok.

Behaviour and lifestyle support for dogs who can’t walk, don’t want to walk, or find walking distressing including senior dogs, dogs in recovery, and those struggling with fear, anxiety and stress.

  • When dog walks are a challenge whether it be due to age, illness, injury or behavioural issue one of the first things I address with a client is car travel.

A dog who is comfortable in the car opens up many opportunities, without it we are limited.

Given some car rides are simply unavoidable for vet visits…it’s an essential and often overlooked piece of the puzzle.

Natalie works from a welfare-first and relationship centred perspective to support everyday dog guardians to build safer, more connected relationships with their dogs through understanding, compassion, and practical support.

Natalie has developed a special interest in senior dog care and, behaviour and lifestyle support for dogs who can’t walk, don’t want to walk, or find walking distressing including senior dogs, dogs in recovery, and those struggling with fear, anxiety and stress.

Throughout her time working with all kinds of dogs Natalie continually observed that the way we walk our dogs is not working for many of them (or us!) contributing to both mental, physical and developmental behavioural problems particularly reactivity and aggression.

Natalie runs a private practice that provides both in person and online training and support to dog carers Australia wide navigating these issues.

DOGHOUSE SESSIONS

DOGHOUSE SESSIONS

How we work together

We’ll start with a thorough behaviour consultation held either in-person or online where we’ll explore your dog’s history, daily life, and what might be contributing to their current struggles.

From there, you’ll receive a personalised care plan, and we’ll reconnect two weeks later for a follow-up session to adjust the plan as needed and check in on how things are progressing with the option of either a 3 month or 6 month support program for weekly support.

  • We’ll explore in detail what’s going on for you and your dog and start to piece together what interventions are needed.

  • A follow-up consult allows us to adjust the plan, as needed and check in on how things are progressing. Whats working, what’s not, and what’s needed.

  • After your follow-up, choose a service tailored to your needs.
