Who is Doghouse Sessions?

Natalie Moore is an accredited dog trainer and certified Family Dog Mediator®, who practices a holistic approach to behaviour focused on canine welfare and mental health.

Her approach is grounded in positive reinforcement, welfare-first practices, and a deep respect for your dog’s individuality. Nat will not teach you how to be the “boss” of your “bad” dog, but focus on collaboration and connection, not control or coercion.

Nat’s been helping dog parents build stronger, more connected relationships with their dogs, using a gentle, trauma-informed approach since 2019. Her work focuses on understanding, and creating small, meaningful changes that restore safety and trust between dogs and their people.

Hi, I’m Natalie! What makes me qualified to help you…

My education and ongoing study - along with over 10 years practical experience - means I am well placed to give you professional guidance and support tailored to you and your dog.

I’ve been passionate about animals my whole life. I grew up with a wild variety of pets, from cats and rats to goats and horses. My first paid job was at 9 years old as a stable hand. This passion grew as I began working with dogs, from shelters and kennels in Australia and Spain, to caring for and coaching people and their dogs and it was in 2019 that my professional dog training career started.

While I sometimes wish I had embarked on my dog training career sooner, I am fortunate to be relatively new to the world of dog training; fresh and open to the latest research. So much of what we know about dogs has changed in recent years with game changing developments.

I’m an accredited dog trainer through the National Dog Trainers Federation, however, I am grateful to have found industry leaders like Kim Brophey. Kim is an award winning canine behaviourist, who developed the L.E.G.S.® Applied Ethology Family Dog Mediation® program, of which I am an accredited professional.

As a carer to 2 rescue dogs and a busy small business owner, I understand that life can get hectic. Outdated dog training fails to fit our needs and lifestyles. I’m a big believer in only training what you need, and this varies depending on you and your dog's needs. Whether it's puppy training or addressing challenging behaviours, I'm here at any stage of your journey, for you and your dog.
